Last Meeting Highlights

November 27th: This season will definitely have a professional development focus and be relevant to a wide audience of ESL teachers. Secondly, we decided that our ESL Week, when we kick it off, should be the same week in November that leads up to the TESL Ontario conference. This is to follow through on the suggestion made
by TESL Ontario, but it is not to say that we shouldn't try to raise our issues in the Niagara region just before our annual conference. We also decided a date, March 31st, for the Spring Conference. We agreed that the theme of the event should be "Assessment" because it is a current and "hot topic". Maureen was going to check out information on locations for us. Some of these locations included St. Catharines Collegiate High School and the Hindu Council Building in Niagara Falls. Any suggestions or objections anyone?

New TESL Niagara webloggers

Hi Alex and Phil,
I am happy to join the TESL Niagara Blog. I hope I will be able to communicate more regularly with my peers in the region. Hi everybody. I work at Niagara College, and I would be interested in talking about testing in a variety of contexts (skills, levels etc.). I am also interested in reflective practice. I am currently teaching a Culture and Customs course and a high-intermediate grammar and writing class. Next term, I will have a high intermediate speaking class. I have just become familiar with blogging and would also like to learn more about "wikkis". That's all for me for now. Have a great term, Shari
